Alert Ready is Canada's national emergency alert system that delivers critical, life-saving alerts (like Amber Alerts, tornado warnings, and wildfire evacuations) directly to compatible wireless devices, television, and radio.
Alert Ready is strictly reserved for imminent threats to life and safety. This includes severe weather events like tornadoes and flash floods, critical police emergencies such as active shooters or Amber Alerts, and major environmental disasters including rapidly spreading wildfires.
For your mobile device to receive an Alert Ready notification, it must be "Wireless Public Alerting" (WPA) compatible. Furthermore, it must be actively connected to an LTE or newer 5G network when the alert is broadcast. If your device is connected only to an older 3G network or is set to "Wi-Fi only", it will not receive the push notification.
